Over 700 volunteer Therapy Dog teams help create moments of joy in our B.C. and Yukon communities by spending time with seniors and children. They also visit people facing illnesses and those simply in need of emotional support and companionship.
These four-legged volunteers and their handlers can be found at hospitals, seniors’ residences, schools and university campuses to give joy and comfort to everyone they meet. They also routinely visit Vancouver International Airport, where they provide comfort to weary travelers.
St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs also take part in a number of special programs, including giving affection to young people who have special needs and providing encouragement to children learning to read through our Paws 4 Stories Initiative.
Your generous donation directly funds the Therapy Dog Program and their visits to schools, senior residences, hospitals and other community facilities.
